I help expatriats making Dutch their own, so they can make the most of their experience in the Netherlands

“ You don’t need to speak Dutch to live and work in The Netherlands ”

But:

You don’t want to depend on a partner for business or social life

Your children go to a Dutch school and you want to be able to communicate in Dutch and build connections with teachers and other parents for their and your best interest.

You want to optimize your career opportunities

You want to make deeper connections and really feel at home in The Netherlands

You are tired of being that person who still can’t have a simple conversation in Dutch with the neighbors after 6 years

You don’t want to depend on others to understand the healthcare/ housing/ social security systems and handle your administration.

You want to learn about Dutch culture and literature, be part of a community and get lot’s of tips for podcasts and reading

About

My name is Annemijn. I am originally from The Hague, but currently live in Paris. I've combined my teaching experience with my passion for writing to offer tailor-made conversational and writing classes.

My teacher training at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, my experience teaching expats in The Hague, as well as my own experiences living abroad and immersing myself in new languages, have taught me a lot about effective language learning strategies—and what's simply a waste of time.

What works for me doesn't necessarily work for you. That's why we'll begin by discussing your specific goals for learning Dutch, your previous language learning experiences, and assessing your optimal learning style.

This approach allows me to create a personalized plan featuring conversational and writing classes that are directly applicable to your new daily life in the Netherlands.

What my students say

Alvaro

“Annemijn, you are a great teacher. Studying with you has always been very fun and educational. Your guidance has been very effective in my language development. When I talk to you I find myself very relaxed and able to talk.”

Hartelijk dank, Annemijn. ”
